Finding Balance

I'll admit it; I'm out of balance.

Catching up on detail work has made me a working robot. When I get like this, my relationships with my family suffer and I don't like that.

I am thankful for the work and being busy. I just need to find balance. Suggestions?

The car wash/detail business is like farming. When it's harvest time you've got to work because a week, a month later it may be gone.

Work hard...play hard...plan a vacation...Involve your family at work...

A wise old car wash mfr summed it up for me once: "If you want to survive in this business, it's got to be: early to bed, early to rise, work like hell and supervise."

One word: delegate. Find someone you can trust and train to take some of the load off while you get away when you need to.

Update:

I found some balance! I did take a few hours off the other day and it helped. What also helped was some exercise (with and without my family), getting out in nature, playing the drums in my band and my Afro-Cuban Drumming class. Thanks for the impetus to do these things. Now to keep it going...
