Bebo's Foley Alabama Car Wash & Lube

One of the most well known names in car washing, Bebo's has several locations in south Alabama. I recently met up with Doug Clyce (Bebo's son) and filmed their Foley location.

Please note the "Popcorn man" - His job is to clean the gas area and give out popcorn to customers. Mr. Clyce said the customers love it, I thought it was very cool. He gave me a "double scoop" thanks popcorn guy!

That popcorn idea is neat. Allan, were people taking advantage of the popcorn at the wash? I like the idea of offering complimentry popcorn. with the cookie cutter operations in my area that's something a little different, a creative idea that might help promote goodwill and some word of mouth. I know it will be bit of a hassle sometimes, but would like to hear from someone who has tried it. Any comments?

Everyone gets a bag, he walks around giving them out. I really think its a cool idea, especially for little kids. I was in walmart the other day and heard a mom tell her son, "If you're good, i'll take you to the car wash".

Plus salty popcorn makes people by drinks from their C-Store

Well guys, I didn't wait for an opinion. I just had a smaller (6 oz.) commercial machine delivered. It is compact and on a SS cart I'm gonna fire it up on busy days at my 4/2. My cost to provide a bag to a customer is about a dime. I feel that it could occupy the customer's time while waiting for the auto. The machine/cart cost about $1300. I figure it is a succcess if it enhances the customer experience and promotes goodwill. If the experiment fails for regular use I'll fire it up only on particulary high volume days or special occasions, or retire it to my home theater. Speedy, come by and I'll hook you up.
