Help with auto cashier& building right packages

We have a flex-serv(6 month old) with ICS auto cashier. We only offer interiors from 8am-6pm but our hours of operations are from 7am-9pm and we only do exteriors after 6pm. Now when we offer interiors our customers first choose the exterior wash and buys the interior package on second screen. The problem is when we offer interiors our coustomer takes forever to understand and we have to help every other coustomer. On the other hand, after 6pm(exteriors only) they take few seconds to buy a wash. Now my question is to all the expertise out there is that should we make just one package for the interior and stick it to the first screen without having second screen, where everbody gets the same wash if they opt for interior cleaning.Currently our packages are as follows:
Exteriors on first screen:
1.$30 blue coral express wax(this is seasonal only)
2.$13 rain-x, tire shine
3.$9 tri-colour polish,sealer wax,rim cleaning.
4.$7 underbody, top brush and extra wraps.
5.$5 basic wash.
Interiors on second screen:
1.$35 int cleaning and dressing for vans, suv's.
2.$30 int cleaning and dressing for cars.
3.$25 int cleaning for vans, suv's.
4.$20 int cleaning for cars.
I also want to add little history of our wash.We took this wash over last year really run down full-serv.With the help of Wash links we build a new 150' tunnel with Sonny's equipment. We are the only one in Toronto to offer free vac and first car wash with auto sentry.
Also the idea of selling express wax for $30 came from Beeny's web site, we sold 102 waxes in 53 days.

I think you are far ahead of the curve of knowledge here...We have to help people with the touch screen with just 4 wash selections and 1 extra service on the second page...so I can't imagine how much assistance this large menu would require. Experimentation is going to be your best bet. It's a shame you couldn't have each auto cashier set up differently at the same time but I don't think you can with ICS. You have to make those changes on your office PC. Not many people have this large of a menu selection with auto cashiers....

Much too confusing for customers. If I had to make the kind of choices you are demanding I would not use your wash.

I think if you are going to be a full service car wash you need to offer the services all the time.

Personally, exterior is the only way to go:

a. Exterior Wash $5.00
b. Wash & POLISH 'n Wax 8.00
c. The Works: 12.00
Wash
P & W
Undercarriage
Tire Shine

As an alternative to full service offer Express Detail services at a much higher price than the full service car wash prices. Those who buy detail services are used to paying more.

If you have the space you can offer up to 5 services including the exterior car wash:

Express Wax $39.95
Express Carpet Shampoo $39.95
Express Seat Shampoo $39.95
Super Interior Clean $39.95
Interior Clean $19.95

By 2 services a $10 discount; 3 services a $20 discount 4 services $30 discount.

The Interior Clean is basically a full service car wash, but putting in the detail area, where customers recognize things cost more you can charge $19.95. There are few car washes that can charge $19.95 for a basic full service wash.

Doing it this way you reduce the labor-intensive, low-margin full service wash option and replace it with a high margin detail option.

Car washes offering express detail services are selling from 10% to 25% of their dailycar wash customers at least one service.

So you see it is easy to predict your detail labor needs by the expected daily car wash volume.

For example if you know from experience that on a Weds with good weather you will wash 300 cars and your express detail sales are at about 10% you know you will do 30 express services and you can plan for the labor to do that.

You should get 2 express detail services per one manhour of labor.

This is, in my opinion, the way for existing full service washes to deal with the rising labor costs and inherent problems.
