Anyone ever hard plumb out to the autobay with stainless steel pipe? I'm getting tired of broken hoses.

I installed our Laser4000 that way. I ran stainless pipe from the equipment room to the attic over the Laser. I have 5 SS bays between our equipment room and our auto bay.
I think I have a short hose connecting the stainless in the attic to the pipe that comes through the ceiling from the Laser.
We also ran stainless pipe for our SS bays.

Oldtimer, funny you mentioned that. We visited a conveyor wash on tour that had SS pipe ran. I like it, it is very slick looking. But a couple of tunnel operators didn't, said it lasted a while but it too would eventually begin to cause trouble. And when it did break it is a real pain to get the repair couplings to not leak, etc. They went back to regular poly and high pressure hose. I was suprised by that, I still think it looks nice.

We like using stainless tubing. We have plumbed high pressure automatics and conveyors. We have experienced virtually no problems none. We even use on our chemical lines on our conveyor. The only downside to stainless is the high cost of stainless steel connectors and adapters; just as with hose stainless must be installed securely.

Thanks guy's. I would have started on it today but had a Arch rotate gearbox and motor go bad. Had to go round up parts then tear down the trolley. just go home. Its 1150 pm. Got everything back together but the prox switches. Want to put dialectic grease back on them. Didn't have any, so I'll finish in the morning.

Got the auto back in service at 10 am. That made my weekend better.

I'm interested in stainless pipe also. Never had much luck bending stainless tubing even in small diameters. Does stainless pipe require special dies to thread? I can rent a motorized pipe threader but if the dies are special it's a no go. I have three arches that use stainless pipe and fittings on them. Pipe requires alot less support than tubing also. Anyone ever do their wash in ss pipe?

I have checked it out and found two suppliers in KCMO. Its priced 108.00 for a 21 foot stick. Both ends are threaded. Each cut is 4.95 and then the threading of the cut end is 2.50. They also have the 90's and couplings too. This is the 304 stainless. Its the better grade. This is in line with doing high pressure hose. The pipe hangers are 2.50 each. I bought 6. When I get this done, I will take some pictures.
