New Double Auto / Friction & Touchfree?
Does any body have a double automatic at one location that offers a touchfree and friction wash? If so how is it working out? Is one auto that is more popular than the other? I am building a new wash and was set on two touchfrees (I have a touchfree at my other location). I keep going back and forth two touchfrees or one of each touchfree & friction, offering a varity. I do not like the combo units. Any advice and comments would be greatly appreciated. My other wash is a 4/1 with a touchfree. I have been very happy with my touchfree.
Thanks

I am new to the industry but one of my customers has a double unit with mark viis. When I reviewed the numbers with him it was 3 to 1 on the friction washes.
I understand the area youre in makes a big difference. This area is very agriculture based area with lots of dust/free solids in the air. In the same area but 30 miles down the road with the same set up it is 1 to 1 but this area has a higher income and newer cars
As a reclaim system manufacturer, I travel and visit many car washes across the nation.
Most owners that have a touchless and a friction side by side indicate that they do about 3 friction to 1 touchless wash. They also indicate that most of the touchless washes are customers with higher end cars that don't want the brushes touching their car.
If I were going to build a double auto, I would offer one of each. This covers more bases with your customers.
Some prefer brushes, some prefer touchless... IMO offering both opens the door to a much wider customer base.
But hey, that's just my opinion too. We all know about opinions...
