Steve,
I have found that anything that is not stainless, plastic, brass, rubber or aluminum will rust in a carwash bay (I did not cover all materials). Coatings like zinc, powdercoat, galvanized or paint will only last until a surface imperfection allows rust to start. Many times these coatings promote rust by holding moisture in after rust has started. If you want to hang the heater once and not worry about it falling down in few years, I would use the stainless.
