I am attemping to build my own stainless steel bridge. I have access to a plasma cutter and welder. Has anyone tried this? I figure that I can save $2000. Any advise, I may just have too much damn time on my hands!!!

Seems like a bunch of trouble to save just a little bit of money.

I'll let everyone know. I have to learn by trial and error or I just won't get it.

On 4000's, pretty avaible. The only thing that you would have trouble with is the computer. However if the chip is still good you get everthing that goes aroung the chip. If you have virtual treadle that is a problem also however you can still buy both of the items from your area PDQ distributor. They may frown that you bought a used machine but they still should sell you parts. If your question is reguarding putting in used parts. There are few items that I would put in used, such as; pump, motor, and computer. All are rebuildable however the bridge is a wear item made of steel. I am thinking of building a stainless bridge like the one being turned out now which should last a long time. Ha, ha that reminds of "Full Metal Jacket". Anyway it depends on which IBA you talking about.

Joep, did you ever build your bridge? I would like to see some pics of your metal work skills.
