Charleston SE meeting
I just returned from the recent SE meeting in Charleston. This was the best one in years.
Scott Clauson of Ryko gave a great marketing presentation that was suitable for everyone.
Bill Walker put together a series of differnent seminarsfor people to attend.
The car wash tour consisted of three different cw's with differnet building designs, equipment and wash process. No dogs on this tour.
The Assn. is also changing its meeting formula after Louisville. There will are seminars scheduled for the spring and then roataing exhibit cities starting with Atlanta in 07, then Orland0 in 08 and back to Atlanta in 09.
As an exhibitior I have been a long time advoacte of one show a year. This is a step in the right direction.

That's awesome news...congrats SECWA on making some difficult but wise decisions.
Glad to hear the show was enjoyable. It's the first one I've missed in several years.
I would like to see Nashville and possibly new Orleans added to the rotating schedule. That would offer enough variety and entertanment for the companions. I'm not a huge fan of Atlanta, but It's big enough there has to be plenty to do if you know where to go. The new aquarium is supposed to be really nice.
Hey Greg, missed you.
I discussed this with Dan Thompson and I'll share my personal opinion on these sites as they were brought up and discussed.
1. Nashville means the Grand Ol Opery hotel and that has to be the worst place to hold a convention. New Orleans is in disaray and doesn't hold much in the way of new car washes unless you go to Benny's in which case we might as well just have the show in BR.
2. All other major Assn's. hold their show in one place. The NECA is in Atlantic City. Southwest in Dallas. Western in Las Vegas. From a vendor standpoint we need to be in a place that has the biggest draw potential. Atlanta and Orlando offer both.
If I had my druthers I would pick Orlando and be done with it. The city offers great new car washes to see, great venues, easy to get to and you can't go wrong with the weather.
Hope to see you in Atlanta.
Stuart
