Odor Removal Warrantee

Do any detail shops guarantee their odor removal efforts? All the shops I have talked to in the south west Ohio area dance around the answer when asked directly and in the end offer no guarantee at all. Does this mean that you can't get most odors out?

in my experience removing odors invloves a complete cleaning of the interior first before you can look at removing any odor. when i was detaling i would guarantee that the odor would come out but the customer had to allow me to do a complete interior clean. there were a few times over the years that i had to redo the odor elimnating step. but the customers were okay with it because i guaranteed the work. also what type of odor eliminating system are they using. i had the best success when i ponied up the money for an ozone machine. a good one can run over $1000. big expense but well worth it. everything else i used before that i could not guarantee results because they were not very reliable. sometimes bacteria enzymes can work well but they really need to be used with ozone to be most effective. I agree with Jeremy when it comes to using Ozone. Ozone distroys the bacteria that are causing the odor. Because ozone is a gas, it penetrates into nooks and cranny's as well as fabric and cusions.

Case # 1- Woman has 1 gallon of milk break open on the back seat of her new (2 month old) car. Odor becomes so obnoxious, the vehicle can not be drivin. She tries everything to get rid of odor, to no avail. I take ozone wand and apply ozone to the area for about 2 minutes. Air out vehicle, odor is gone and I'm a hero!

Case # 2- Man returns from a fishing trip because of a family emergency. Accidently leaves dead fish in back of Blazer for a week in 90 degree Florida heat. Again, the odor is so bad, the vehicle is undrivable. Again, he tries everything to get rid of the odor with no success. I send him an Ozone generator. He applies ozone to car for 45 minutes. Odor is gone.

Case # 3- I bought a used camper last year. It had a bad musty smell from being closed up. I apply ozone, musty smell is gone. Camper actually smells fresh inside now.

Just about any bacterial caused odor can be removed permentantly with Ozone. It is commly used in fire and flood restoration, used car dealers and such. Cigarette odors? No problem! Getting rid of new carpet and new paint chemical smells are also a good application.

There are do's and don'ts when using Ozone. It can be a very powerful tool when used properly however, like any hazardous chemical, precautions must be taken.

Ozone is also corrosive and will distroy rubber if applied too much or too long.

In water, such as car wash reclaim, Ozone also works well to kill off odors. When applied properly in water, the corrosive effect is nullified.

Using Ozone, you can pretty much warranty the odor removal. I wouldn't say that about any other method.

the only failure i've had with ozone machines was with a customer who was allergic to the vapors within the vehicle when it was new

If your wash is in Canada, better check with the Ministry of Health before using ozone in customers vehicles.

They have some serious issues with high ozone concentrates being around the public.

They even had all the companies selling home units send letters to the purchasers to stop using them, etc.

If you are using an ozone machine after it has done the work open the vehicle up for 1/2 to 1 hour the vapors disappear. Also I would run the ozone machine with the engine on and the heater or a/c on depending on weather. This makes sure that the ozone circulates through the entire vehicle including the air ducts but you have to run the system where it recycles the air from inside the vehicle. Jeremy

Hello Everyone,
i am now to this site, and car odors is one of my specialties. The best ordor removal product is called Auto Shocker, and it is environmentaly safe, and easey to use. It is safe for people and pets alike and will remove any odor out there. This product uses Chlorine Dioxide Vapor, I know it sounds harsh, but it is totaly safe and EPA approved. The vapor penetrates any porus surface killing all existing bacteria, mold, fungus and viruses hanging out in your car to leave it completely odor free. It is much safer, easier and cheaper than ozone. You can get it at www.biocidesystems.com, the site has retail pricing, if you wish you buy quatities, please contact us.
