Prices? All passenger cars....
Buff and wax? (I saw a dealership estimate for $270!)
Interior shampoo?
Overspray removal?
Hand wax?
Hand wax with clay polish (No overspray)
Any creative/successful packages?

I am $85(tax incl) for a super inside, wash, clay polish and paint sealant. (pssgr car). I think I should go up to $100.....
my complete bumper to bumper is $109. on most cars. I am probably one of the cheaper details in my area.
Scott, if you have questions and want them answered make sure you come to the NRCC show in Atlantic City next week. You can get info at www.nrcc.com.

Yea, if you are polishing the paint and doing a full interior...that is a low price.
My wash/clay/paste wax+complete interior clean shampoo and detail for passenger cars is $135-155. I charge a price that lets me make a decent profit after all expenses. Bud Abraham is good at explaining how to do this.
I also take my time on each car and do the little extras that keep my customers coming back and willing to wait 1 month for an appointment. Express detail at a car wash is different.
To me, full service detailing should be a premium-priced, top notch service, period.
Wow I am surprised at the prices you all are not charging. Our prices start for a 4 door car bumper to bumper $299, if it needs correction it goes up. All of our details are clayed, we don't include engines with the details add of $45, leather deep clean $65, waterspots start at $75. Interiors and cleaned, shampooed, no dressing unless they ask. Exterior is clayed/polish/wax. Our wholesale price for dealers starts at $125 for same size car. We have been detailing for 26 years...
Diana... I'm pleased to see your pricing... as well as the structure of your presentation.
Obviously, Jim's pricing is lower than a traditional detail shop. It may be that his platform is in an express aftercare format of rapid-delivery service, which would shift the value-equation to a lower price. And, YES, even in that format, Jim could do better. pricing is also dependent upon how the product is merchandised.
I'm also surprised that so many professionals offering detail services are ignoring the right-hand digit pricing formula that gives a perceptive edge to retailers who utilize the .99 or .95 as opposed to a whole number. The penny-to-dollar relationship is a powerful tool for retail pricing strategies.
Your $299 embraces that science, but other service prices don't. Is it because it is easier to use whole numbers, even though the perception of pennies is powerful? $298.95 anyone?
The left and right-hand digit strategy is a sound retail pricing strategy, and well worth the trouble when considered on an annualized basis. Pennies are powerful!

Yep, I went up to $139-169 for passenger cars for a basic detail and $169-199 for larger vehicles, based on this idea. Thinking about using the .99 next year. An extra dollar (well, $.99) goes right to the bottom line and with my current pricing, wouldn't even appear to most customers as a price increase.
My full-service charges. $159-$199 for complete details. Motors add $30 and headliners $30. Best wash and interior super clean. $44.95, Wash and Wax $44.95.
