Auto Spa versus Car Wash
I need to name a car wash. It is a full service with detail and lube service.
I was wondering, what do you think it better to end the name with "Car Wash" or "Auto Spa"? "Auto Spa" sounds more luxurious and I personally like it, but then again, I'm thinking that the customers may not read too much into the name and "Car Wash" may be simpler and work better as far as catching people's attention.
What do you think?
Thank you!

It's been said the most powerful words in advertizing are "FREE" and "Next EXIT". In our industry it's "Car Wash" and the bigger the better. People can drive by your location for years and not know you are there. Every tunnel I know of that's parallel, not perpendicular, to the highway does better because of greater visibility. In the self serve business, it's better to have the bays open to the highway and with an IBA, it's best to have the entrance close to the road. All for the same reason, it's quicker to distinquish what's going on at that site.
Drive by your location and count how many seconds someone may have to spot your site and figure out what's going on there. It will probably be less than 5 seconds. You can be luxurious in other ways' ie: brick pavers, more landscaping, better uniforms, etc, etc.
How about using both; "AJ's Carwash and Autospa"? The word "Carwash" is the best and should be emphasized on the sign.
CAR WASH - As big as the city will let you. The idea that people will intuitively know that you are a car wash and not a self-serve personal spa with steam rooms and hot tubs gives the average customer far too much credit.
I kept the name of my car wash when I bought it, and added this sign to the building to help catch more attention, I still go by the name Pastime Auto Wash, but the function of the business is clearly posted on the building now
